A Visual Journey
Since arriving on the artistic scene, Francesca has worked to capture and intrigue the art community with her mixed media work. She gathers much of her inspiration from her faith, family, the environment in which she lives in, and African American culture. She is from the Washington D.C. area but later moved to Maryland in her earlier years. Her pieces embody many medias such as, but not limited to painting, printmaking, paper cuts, drawing and ceramic sculptures. Artists such as Kara Walker, Kehinde Wiley, Jacob Lawerence, Dr. Joan Gaither and many others have influenced/inspired her artistic practice. She is currently a Senior General Fine Arts and Printmaking Major concentrating in Book Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Francesca believes that art is not just a tool to create, but it is a way to communicate the human experience.
